Keeping Kids Safe

Keeping Kids Safe Program

The Keeping Kids Safe program offers a variety of supervised visitation resources when supervised visitation is ordered by Family Court. The Keeping Kids Safe Program also offers a volunteer/internship program for individuals seeking to receive invaluable experience working hands on with parents and families.

Volunteers/interns contribute by assisting and or providing supervised visitation services.

What is Supervised Visitation?

Supervised visitation, pursuant to Family Code section 3200 and 3200.5 is the “contact between a noncustodial party and one or more children in the presence of a neutral third person”.

The Keeping Kids Safe Program offers resources and services to the community regarding supervised visitation services when it is ordered by Family Court. Select one of the following links for additional information on supervised visitation or monitored exchanges:

Providers of Supervised Visitation

The Court subcontracts with two non-profit agencies to conduct visitation services, through the Access to Visitation grant. If a parent is eligible for the program, costs for supervised visitation may be at no cost to the visiting parent. Qualification for participation into the program is determined by the non-profit agency. The Court does provide a list of supervised visitation providers located in Orange County. Click here for the Supervised Visitation Providers List .

The Court may order supervised visitation performed by a professional provider or a non- professional provider, such as a family member or a friend. Whether the person is a professional provider or a non-professional provider, all providers must comply with the uniform standards of practice pursuant to the The California Rules of Court, Standards of Judicial Administration, Standard 5.20
