eFiling for Juvenile

Pursuant to section 212.5 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, section 1010.6 of the Code of Civil Procedure, California Rules of Court, rules 2.252 and 5.522(b), and Local Rules of the Superior Court, County of Orange Rule 908, the court authorizes electronic filing of certain documents in Juvenile proceedings.

Electronically filed documents filed prior to midnight on a court day will be deemed filed as of that day, except for initiation case documents (e.g. petitions).   Initiation petitions must be filed by 3:00 PM the day before if a Juvenile court hearing is required the following day.  This provides time to process these initiating documents.  Documents are considered filed once they are received by the court and a confirmation of receipt is created.  If electronically filed at midnight or on a non-court day, the document will be deemed filed on the first court day after it is received.  Any document electronically filed must satisfy all other legal filing deadlines and requirements, including due dates.

The following documents may not be filed electronically:

  • Delinquency Petitions
  • Disqualifications
