Santa Ana- The Court will launch a new Web-based program, March 12, 2007, that will allow the general public to access basic information about civil, traffic and criminal cases filed with the Orange County Superior Court from any computer with an Internet connection. This convenient new service will be available for no-cost, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The public is invited to visit the Court’s Web site: www.occourts.org and link to “Case Info” located in the left frame near the top of the Web page.
“The Court is taking advantage of advances in technology to better serve the public,” said Superior Court Judge Robert J. Moss, Chair of the Court’s Technology Committee. He added, “The Court’s goal is to maximize on-line public access to public information to save any unnecessary trips to the courthouse.”
With the click of a mouse, this on-line application provides hearing dates, times and locations, and charges in criminal cases. Search for case information can be done by entering the defendant’s name or by case number. Courtroom calendars for criminal matters are also available with this new feature.
The Court also provides a Web-based application for civil cases that provides four primary blocks of information:
