Please Note
Self-Help Centers are open during regular court hours. 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and provide free procedural assistance to people who do not have attorneys.

Our Services Include PROCEDURAL ASSISTANCE FOR:

  • Establishing or changing child support
  • Establishing or changing spousal support
  • Establishing parentage
  • Divorce, Legal Separation
  • Child custody/visitation
  • Name change
  • Response to Domestic Violence
  • Review of court documents
  • Referrals to outside agencies
  • Use of computers for case information, completion of court forms, support calculations and other case type information
  • How To Booklets and Forms Packets

Self-Help Center Workshops:

Workshop seating is limited. All Workshops are on a first come first served basis until spaces are filled, so please plan to come early.

Lamoreaux Justice Center Workshops: Held in the first floor Self-Help Center.

  • Divorce Series
    Three workshops to get you through the divorce process.
    You must attend “Disso – 1” in order to qualify to attend the second
    (Disso – 2) and third (Disso – 3) workshops. Workshops offered in
    English and Spanish.


  • Disso – 1: How to Start a Divorce
    English - Mondays at 1:00p.m. (Must check in at 12:30p.m. outside the
    Self-Help Center)
    Spanish - Mondays at 8:00a.m. (Must check in at 7:30a.m. outside the
    Self-Help Center)


  • How to Respond to a Divorce
    The second and fourth Tuesday of every month, except for holidays, at
    1:00p.m. (Must check in at 12:45p.m. outside the Self-Help Center)


  • How to Start a Petition for Paternity
    English - Wednesdays at 1:00p.m. (Must check in at 12:30p.m. outside
    the Self-Help Center)
    Spanish - Wednesdays at 8:00a.m. (Must check in at 7:30a.m. outside
    the Self-Help Center


  • How to Respond to a Temporary Restraining Order
    Every Wednesday and Friday at 9:00a.m. (Must check in at 8:45 a.m. outside
    the Self-Help Center)


  • Child Support Assistance
    Morning Session:
    Every Monday thru Friday
    (Must check in at 8:00a.m. in the Office of the Family Law Facilitator located on the 7th floor in Room C-705)

    Afternoon Session:
    Every Monday thru Friday

Central Justice Center Workshops

Held in the Orange County Public Law Library, 5th Floor, Conference Room B. The Orange County Public Law Library is located in the center of the Santa Ana Civic Center Plaza, building #32. Cross streets are Civic Center Drive to the north and Santa Ana Boulevard to the south. The library entrance is located on the east side of Flower Street. The Law Library is easily accessible from the Central Justice Center .

Unlawful Detainer:

  • "How to Answer an Unlawful Detainer (Eviction) Case"
    Every Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
    Bring: A copy of your Summons and Complaint, Envelope, Stamps & Interpreter, if needed.

Criminal:

  • "How to Clean Up Your Criminal Record" (PC 1203.4 Petition)
    Every Second and Fourth Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m.
    Bring: Your California criminal record from the court(s) or California Department of Justice Rap Sheet & Interpreter, if needed.

West Justice Center Self-Help Services
