The Services provided by Family Court Services include mediation, investigation, review of minor marriage applications and the Keeping Kids Safe supervised visitation program. Mediation is made available to anyone with children under the age of 18 and that does not have an agreement about how to share their children. Mediation is a confidential process and provided at no cost to the parents.
Family Court Services provides three types of investigations: Child Custody Investigations, in which the investigator makes recommendations regarding custody and parenting plans have a fee of approximately $1,000- $3,000; Domestic Violence Investigations, conducted when a Domestic Violence temporary restraining order has been granted; and Emergency Investigations are conducted at no cost to the parents when there ARE safety concerns regarding the children.
Family Court Services also interviews minors and their parents when there is a request for a minor to be allowed to marry before the age of 18.
The Keeping Kids Safe program, overseen by Family Court Services staff, provides supervised visitation services for parents when monitored visitation has been order by the court.
