Court Reporter Services (CRS) is part of the Operations Support Division. Our Mission is to serve the court and community through the preservation of the official court record.

Electronic Recording

An electronic audio recording may be provided on some cases in the Superior Court of California, County of Orange. Before a proceeding may be recorded, permission is needed from the judge presiding over the case, and recordings are subject to availability of equipment and monitors.

How do I get a copy or transcripts of a proceeding utilizing electronic recording? Copies of electronically recorded proceedings are available on CD, and cost $10.00 per disc. Requests for CD of recording may be submitted via e-mail in order to process your request, please provide the following information within your e-mail request:

  • Name and Telephone number of requester (Required Information)
  • Case Name
  • Case Number
  • Date and Approximate Time of Proceedings
  • Name of Judge
  • Location of Courthouse where Hearing/Trial was held (Required Information)

Parties are responsible for making their own arrangements for paper transcripts of electronically recorded proceedings. The Court does not provide references for transcription services.
