If there is a hold on your driver’s license or registration, you will not be able to renew, replace or make any changes to your driver’s license/registration. In addition, the DMV may suspend your privilege to drive.
If there is a Failure to Appear or Failure to Pay hold on your driver’s license or registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles, you may be able to pay the full amount to release the hold. A failure to appear hold may also be released by appearing before a Judicial Officer.
Please be advised, if your case is in Collections, scheduling a future court hearing will not stop a DMV hold, suspension or warrant from being imposed on your case.
