Services are available in person or by mail.
Services may be paid in cash, check, credit card, or money order. Checks or money orders are to be made payable to: Clerk of the Court
Files may be viewed at Records Management, Room D-100, Central Justice Center. Cases from 1900 to 1967 are on microfiche. Some files are stored off-site and may be ordered for later viewing. Dismissed cases are retained for one year and then destroyed in accourdance with the Section 68153 of the Government Code.
A current picture identification (such as a driver's license) is required to view a file. The file may be viewed in the Records Management public lobby. The identification is returned when the file is returned to the records clerk.

Superior Court records are searched from 1889 to the present.The public is welcome to search the court indexes. Indexes are located in the Records Management.
To Request Copies by Mail:Provide the following information:
- Case number (if unknown, see Record Search);
- Name of plaintiff/petitioner or defendant/respondent;
- Name of document and date of filing, if known (please be as specific as possible).
If the document is 20 pages or less: fill out the amount line on the check: "Not to Exceed $25.00." The correct amount will be filled in and you will receive a receipt with the copies. Do not send cash.
If the document is 21 pages or more and/or you are requesting a certified copy, certificate of fact or exemplification: fill out the amount line on the check "Not to Exceed $60.00." Again, the correct amount will be filled in and a receipt will be provided with the copies. Do not send cash.
Please provide your name, address, and telephone number, and be sure to include a large self-addressed, stamped envelope. If you do not provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope, postage will be calculated and added to the cost
